I don't have the ability or paycheck to use realms or any other server hosting option. This world also had experimental features enabled (but not the beta), so I don't know how compatible it is with other server software. I set up pocketmine, but I want to load a specific world to play on. I got the server software working on the virtual machine, but I couldn't connect to it using my phone.
